In recent years, immigration to the United Kingdom had been larger and more diverse than at any other point in its history, at least until the COVID-19 pandemic arrived in 2020. In the nine-year period beginning in March 2011, an average of 336,000 more non-UK nationals moved to the country each year than departed. Most of these migrants take advantage of the shortfall in labour force and skills shortages. This represented a notable departure from previous decades.

Human traffickers have sought to take advantage of this by exploiting vulnerable individual. This workshop was designed to educate members of our community on the danger poses by human traffickers who tends to convince economic migrants to either take the Mediterranean see or take illegal rout towards entering the country.

We want to thank our guest speaker, Mr. M. J Uddin from the Northeast Solicitors who came tom educate our members on the immigration, rules, and pitfalls.
