The Sunderland City Council Mayoral’s Palace is one of the most sacred places in the City of Sunderland. As part of our community’s acculturation initiative, members of the Sunderland African Community had the hour to have been invited by the Mayor of the City of Sunderland to have a tour of the mayor’s palace.
We were received by the Right Worshipful the Mayor of the City of Sunderland, Cllr. David Snowdon, The Mayoress of the City of Sunderland, Cllr. Dianne Elizabeth Snowdon and the Deputy Mayor of the City of Sunderland, Cllr. Henry Trueman.
Members of the African community had the honor of touring the place and they were showed all the historical context of the place and members had the honor of being the first community in Sunderland to wear the mayor regalia. The community was well received.
