Food4All Project
Cost of Living Crisis
During the 2023 festive period we were able to provide groceries to more than 150 families. Thanks to the Community Foundation who made this possible. We also want to use this medium to thanks the National Lottery who has been our major sponsor for two consecutive years now. Many families will now have enough to eat during the Christmas and New Year celebration.
The number of households facing severe food shortages is worse than it has ever been, with almost one in 20 (4.6 per cent) saying that members of their household have gone a whole day without eating in the past month, because they couldn’t afford or get access to food.
This is particularly more severe in the Refugees and migrants’ community where majority of them don’t have access to public funds. With this in mind, we have lunched our Food4All project with a view to ensuring no family out there will go to bed without food to eat.
Special thanks to our sponsors. Because of your support, we have succeeded in feeding many vulnerable families during covid-19 lockdown and we continue to feed more and more families.
Analysis by the Food Foundation concluded that the cost-of-living crisis was causing a clear increase in hunger in the UK. In April 2022 13.8 per cent of households experienced moderate or severe food insecurity, a five-percentage point increase from January 2022.
“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around”.
